Mahadev is one of the original architects of Apache Hadoop and brings a wealth of experience leading infrastructure at scale for multiple public companies, most recently serving as VP of Infrastructure at Instacart. At Instacart, he led engineering teams responsible for scaling backend systems that processed billions of events daily, hundreds of terabytes of data per day, and over 20 million workflows. He optimized infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance for millions of users and helped the company navigate the extreme peak demands during COVID.
At Together AI, Mahadev will lead engineering and research efforts to advance our GPU infrastructure platform—driving reliability, performance, and scale for the AI-native applications. His charter spans everything from cluster management and scheduling to performance optimization, ensuring that Together delivers the most production-ready environment for builders in this pivotal moment for the industry.
